Neighbors United has been serving the Freret and Milan areas of Uptown New Orleans since 1974.

Another Big Day at the Freret Market

Sunny skies and good music marked the 3rd monthly Freret Market, as 1,200 people came out to shop and eat. This market introduced a new food court section to the market, which was a big success with market patrons. Also added to the usual eccletic mix of food, arts, crafts, and used books were two new produce vendors.
Next month the Freret Market will be holding its first MEGA MARKET for the holiday season. Over 100 vendors across two parking lots with two music stages. Definately something not to be missed.

Our graffitti and community clean-up was a big success. A big neighborhood thank you goes out to Andy Lehman, Andrew and Editha Amacker, Patrick Kadow, Jane Dimitry, Hellene Barnett, Sheril Miller, and Kimberly Van Wagner. I have forgotten one of our volunteers, but she deserves thanks as well. These fine neighbors cleaned up all of the graffitti on Freret Street between Jefferson and Napolean, much of the graffitti on stop signs throughout the neighborhood, graffitti on Stern Tennis Center and Crocker Elementary School, cleaned up the Freret Market parking lot,
